Best. Weekend. Ever.

\Over the past few days I've been fighting off a nasty cold - the stark weather changes from 40 degrees to 80 degrees could have a lot to do with it, but regardless, I've been rather ill. Last night it got worse - it went from just being a head/chest/sinus congestion thing to a digestive system thing, but I'll spare you the gory details.

But still, it was probably the best weekend I've had in a long time.

First of all, on Thursday, we got a dog.

Yes. Finally. A dog.

No, it's not an English Bulldog, since I've pretty much given up on that dream forever. But it's still a cool dog. She's a mix of black lab and springer spaniel, and her name is Chloe. Isn't she cute?



She used to belong to a former co-worker of Michelle's. She couldn't really justify keeping her in a crate due to her long work days, and in the best interest of the dog, we adopted her. We'd watched her before, and Josiah loves her, so it was a win/win. Plus, she'll get to see her old owner as often as she wants. A good situation overall.

So the weekend started out totally made of awesome.

And things just kept getting better. The Red Sox won on Thursday night, in Cleveland, bringing the ALCS back to Boston, and followed up with two more consecutive wins to bring them to the Fall Classic for the second time in three years - I don't care who you are, that's an accomplishment.

So we got a dog, the Red Sox are going to the Series, and I'm watching Universal Soldier: The Return, for the first time, thanks to HBO.

Good times.

Two Jobs in One Year.

So I lost my job. Again. The one I thought I'd love. But I lost it. Only because I didn't want to be dragged along in part time until business picked up. I've gone through the cycle, sadness to despair to anger to more anger. And despite my lack of knowledge of the Grateful Dead, I heard this song on the radio today, and had to smile: Must be getting early, clocks are running late. One Down, A Few More to Go...

It's taken me over a year to finally get off of my behind and update my website. But now - it's here. Well, most of it. I have a few kinks to iron out, but I have it uploaded and working, and you can check it out here . I'll take any advice I can get, so fire away. But there's a problem when I get a major project finished. There's a dozen more I have to get off the ground. Here are a few of them. A to do list, if you will. 1) Update my portfolio. There's one thing that designers and other artists have to do in order to maintain fresh - keep creating. I've been doing a bunch of things, mostly non-creative, but I really need to update my work portfolio - some new, versatile projects that showcase my skills. While putting my portfolio together, I noticed that I have a lot of solid poster design, so I'm going to have to focus on some layout and other design projects.
